This is our most popular 3-day Morocco desert tourn, 3 Day Marrakech to Merzouga tour Unlike generic trips, we take you on a "Grand Loop" of the south. You will cross the High Atlas Mountains, sleep in the Merzouga Sahara, and return via a different scenic route through the volcanic landscapes of the Anti-Atlas Mountains and the Draa Valley region.

Tour Plan

Day 1: Marrakech – Tizi n'Tichka – Ait Benhaddou – Dades Valley Drive time: Approx. 7 hours

We depart Marrakech at 08:00 AM, crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass. We stop to visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou, the mud-brick fortress famous for Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After lunch in Ouarzazate, we travel the "Road of a Thousand Kasbahs." We pass the Skoura Oasis and the Valley of Roses before arriving at the Dades Gorges. Overnight: Hotel/Kasbah in Dades Valley (Dinner & Breakfast included).

Day 2: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Merzouga – Camel Trek Drive time: Approx. 6 hours

After breakfast, we drive to the Todra Gorges, a massive canyon with 300m high rock walls popular with climbers. We continue through the palm groves of Tinjedad and Erfoud (famous for fossils). In the afternoon, we reach Merzouga. You will leave the 4x4 and ride camels across the golden Erg Chebbi dunes to catch the sunset. Overnight: Berber Desert Camp (Private Tent, Dinner & Drum Music included).

Day 3: Merzouga – Alnif – Nkob – Ouarzazate – Marrakech Drive time: Approx. 8-9 hours

Wake up for sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, we begin our return journey to Marrakech using a different route to show you more of Morocco. We drive through the volcanic landscapes of the Anti-Atlas Mountains, passing the acacia trees of Alnif and the village of Nkob, famous for its 45 Kasbahs. We cross the Draa Valley region and rejoin the main road at Ouarzazate, crossing the High Atlas one last time to reach Marrakech in the evening.
