Your adventure begins with an 8:00 AM departure from your Marrakech accommodation. Enjoy a scenic 1-hour and 20-minute drive into the High Atlas Mountains, arriving at the trailhead village of Agersioual (1,600m). Here, you will meet your expert mountain guide and muleteer team.

The hike kicks off heading east, where you will tackle the steady climb up to the Tizi n’Agersioual Pass (2,200m). From the top, you will descend into the beautiful Imnane Valley toward the village of Ikkis. We will pause here to enjoy a traditional, freshly prepared Moroccan lunch, either in a welcoming Berber home or relaxing by the riverbank.

In the afternoon, the trek continues through the valley as we make our second major climb of the day up to the Tizi n’Tamter Pass (2,279m). Take in the sweeping panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and deep valleys before beginning a 90-minute descent into Imlil (1,740m), the vibrant hub of Atlas trekking. Tonight, you will enjoy a hot dinner and a comfortable bed at a local guesthouse, Riad Atlas Panorama.

Max Elevation: 3,206m (Toubkal Refuge)

After breakfast at the riad, we leave Imlil and begin our trek up the rugged Mizane Valley. The trail winds past Aremd, the highest and largest village in the valley, famous for its terraced orchards of apple and walnut trees.

We continue our gradual ascent, crossing rocky floodplains until we reach the famous pilgrimage shrine of Sidi Chamharoush. Set beside a cascading waterfall, this is the perfect place to rest and buy a freshly squeezed orange juice or mint tea. (Note: Access to the interior shrine is restricted to Muslims, but the surrounding area is open to all).

Beyond the shrine, the landscape transforms drastically. The trail becomes steeper, zigzagging relentlessly upward through stark, rocky terrain toward the snow line. By mid-afternoon, the Toubkal Refuge (3,206m) will come into view. You will settle into the base camp, enjoy a hearty, carb-rich dinner, and get to bed early in preparation for tomorrow's summit attempt.

Trekking Time: 9 to 11 hours

Max Elevation: 4,167m (Mount Toubkal Summit)

Today is the day! We wake up well before dawn, have a quick breakfast, and switch on our headlamps. The ascent begins immediately, taking us up through the steep, rocky terrain of the southern cirque. The climb is non-technical but requires stamina as we navigate scree slopes and altitude.

As the sun rises, the sky shifts through incredible hues of purple, orange, and gold, illuminating the jagged peaks around you. After a few hours of challenging climbing, you will step onto the summit of Jebel Toubkal (4,167m). Celebrate your massive achievement while taking in spectacular 360-degree views that stretch across the High Atlas range and, on a clear day, all the way to the Sahara.

After plenty of photos, we begin the long descent back to the Toubkal Refuge, where we will stop for a well-earned rest and a hot lunch. Re-energized, we continue our descent all the way down the valley back to Imlil. Your driver will be waiting to transfer you back to Marrakech, dropping you off at your accommodation in the early evening to celebrate your successful climb.
